Taylor, Leeds United defender agrees personal terms with Burnley.

Leeds United defender agrees personal terms with Burnley.

Burnley Football Club and Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor have agreed personal terms according to the Burnley Express sports editor, Chris Boden.

Chris Boden tweeted “Believe Charlie Taylor will become a Claret as of his Leeds United contract expiring on July 1st, deal done” he then went on to put “The fee still to be agreed with Leeds, so still some way to go yet, but I’ve been told personal terms are done.

Charlie Taylor has been at the center of much controversy in the recent months. After Leeds United’s former majority shareholder, Massimo Cellino, refused to sell him he refused to play against Wigan at the end of last season. This, of course, didn’t go down well with the Leeds United faithful and has been subject to much abuse ever since.

The fee, although not agreed yet, is likely to be £5m. As Charlie Taylor is only 23 he can’t go for nothing even though his contract is up in the summer. If Leeds United don’t get the fee they want, which is believed to be £5m, it will go to a tribunal. Neither club will want so the chances are Burnley will pay £5m.

Taylor signed a professional contract with Leeds United from their academy back in 2011 and since then has made 93 domestic league appearances. He’s also been out on loan to Bradford City, York City, Inverness CT and Fleetwood Town.

With Charlie Taylor looking almost certain to leave Leeds United, here’s an article on three potential replacements for the young Englishman.
