FACTFILE: Everything you need to know about Leeds United and Nottingham Forest target

Earlier today, the72 reported that Nottingham Forest and Leeds United were among a number of clubs that were interested in signing Werder Bremen goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.

Wiedwald was a regular in the Bundesliga side last season, but just how much do you know about him?

We have done a bit of research, and developed a factfile on the shot stopper.

Here is everything that Nottingham Forest and Leeds United fans need to know about their new target:

Felix Wiedwald was born on the 15th March 1990, making him 27-years-old.

The German keeper stand tall, at 6ft3” (1.90m), which is around the average height for a goalkeeper.

He began his youth career at TSV Achim, before moving to the Werder Bremen academy in 1999 at the tender age of nine.

Wiedwald remained in the youth set-up at Werder Bremen until 2009, when he was offered his first professional contract.

After signing the contract, he struggled to make a real impact on the first team, and instead featured several times for Werder Bremen II.

In 2011, he made the move to MSV Duisburg, where he was the first team goalkeeper for two seasons.

Next up for Wiedwald was a move to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he struggled to make his mark.

In two years at the club, the goalkeeper made just 12 appearances.

In 2015, Werder Bremen announced that Wiedwald had re-signed for the club, and would be in the first team squad.

Injury to fellow goalkeeper Raphael Wolf meant that Wiedwald was the first choice for the majority of the 2015/16 season.

Since returning to the club, he has made 59 appearances.

Germany’s superb line of goalkeepers has meant that Wiedwald has never got near the senior team, however he did make an appearance for the U20 squad in 2009.
