Klich revels at signing for ‘huge club’ and outlines Leeds promotion goal

Speaking to the official Leeds United website, new Leeds signing Mateusz Klich has revelled in joining a ‘huge club’ and believes he can achieve promotion in his first season. The Polish midfielder became the first signing of the Thomas Christiansen era at Elland Road.

With Leeds fixing Klich down to a three-year deal with the Sky Bet Championship club, the 27-year-old has expressed his happiness at making the move. He wishes to test himself in the English game having playing for Polish, German and Dutch clubs throughout his career to date.

Leeds beat off big competition to snap up the player but the player himself insists this is the right move for him and that the future is very bright,

“I am very happy to have signed for such a big club and I’m looking forward to playing in the famous white shirt.

“I’m excited to come to England and test myself in the Championship and I can’t wait to get going.

“The team came close to promotion last season so hopefully we can go one better and I’m looking forward to meeting my new team mates next week and getting started.”

Klich netting six times in the Dutch Eredivisie for FC Twente, including the winning goal from the spot in a 1-0 home victory against UEFA Europa League fnalists Ajax back in December 2016. The highlights of that game can be seen in the video below. He is an attacking midfielder that is cultured on the ball, with an eye for a pass and clearly a goal too. He is sure to be one to excite Leeds fans over the next three seasons.
