Leeds United striker Chris wood is currently in Russia competing for his native New Zealand in the 2017 Confederations Cup.
The Kiwis lost their first game against Russia, making today’s match with Mexico a must win.
And they knew that if they were to get the three points they needed, Chris Wood would be absolutely crucial.
And at Half Time, it was fair to say that he has been crucial.
The score at the interval was 1-0 to New Zealand, and of course the goal scorer was Kiwi captain Chris Wood.
He has become a fan favourite at Elland Road this season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
His performances have seen him linked with a move away from the club, but Leeds United fans will be desperate for him to stay.
We take a look at how a select few Whites supporters reacted to Wood’s goal for his country:

This tweet shows acknowledgement of Chris Wood’s finish…but the price statement may be slightly exaggerated.
Quality finish from Woody there, if he was English he'd be worth 48 squillion billions pounds. #lufc
