Nottingham Forest and QPR plan move for Luton Town midfielder

Nottingham Forest and QPR and planning to make a move to sign Luton Town’s Pelly Ruddock according to a report from HITC Sport.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who can also play in defence, has been a star player for the Hatters ever since signing for them from West Ham United in 2014 after a successful loan spell. He was one of the key players as the club made a push for promotion from Sky Bet League Two, though they would eventually lose to Blackpool in the play-off semi-finals. And with Luton not getting promoted, that means they risk losing their star man.

His impressive performances have been noted by those higher up in the league ladder and now both Nottingham Forest and QPR are interested in signing him. Both teams need to improve their squads after going through underwhelming seasons, Forest in particular as they came close to being relegated from the Sky Bet Championship, and see Ruddock as someone they can build their team around for the next few years.

Luton have been able to fend off interest for Ruddock before, they have turned down bids from Leeds United for him, but this may be the summer where they are unable to keep him. The former Boreham Wood man has only got one year left on his current deal and with him set to turn 24 by next July, Luton would not be able to get compensation for him. This means Luton would either have to risk losing him on a free or cash in now.
