Joe Riley
The youngster from Manchester United was sent on loan to Sheffield United last season to gain some Football League experience. He managed to make two appearances until an untimely injury unfortunately ended his season prematurely and meant that he would have to settle for a space on the sidelines instead.
Riley has appeared twice for Manchester United with both performances being in cup competitions. He came on as a substitute during an F.A Cup match at Shrewsbury Town and then went on to make his full senior debut in the side against FC Midtjlland in the Europa League at Old Trafford.
Journalist Alan Nixon hinted there was credibility the Bantams would be in to bring the young defender to Valley Parade. This would be in line with Bradford co-owner’s Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp’s philosophy of using and developing emerging young talent’s careers at Valley Parade. Whether this will be Meredith’s long term replacement however, we are yet to find out.
