Ince, Huddersfield Town in loan approach for Derby County winger

Huddersfield Town in loan approach for Derby County winger

Huddersfield Town are to make an approach to sign Derby County’s Tom Ince on loan according to a report from The Sun.

The Terriers were promoted to the Premier League after they beat Reading in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final and while they will receive a huge cash boost because of it, they are still going to have to work with one of the smallest budgets in the top tier, if not the smallest. This means that head coach David Wagner is going to have to be creative in his dealings to cut costs and he believes he has found a way to sign one of Derby’s most talented in a cheap way.

They have been impressed with Ince who seems to have refound the form that made him seen as a future England international while at Derby, leading to him being voted as the 21st best player in the EFL. However with there being some reports that the Rams would be happy to get rid of the player this summer, Huddersfield are hoping to move in and sign up a talented winger.

However they will not be signing him on a permanent deal just yet. Because the chairman Dean Hoyle is keen not to be lumbered with expensive contracts in case they head back down, he wants to sign Ince on a season long loan deal, with Derby being paid a loan fee and the entirety of his £30,000 a week wages. They would also agree a fee to sign him on a permanent deal next summer should Huddersfield stay up. It is unsure if Derby would agree a deal that would favour the buying party so much but they may be willing to talk to shift his wages off the budget.
