Everton, West Ham and Newcastle to battle for Brentford star

Premier League trio Everton, West Ham and Newcastle United are reportedly all interested in signing Brentford star Jota Peleterio, according to West London Sport.

The 25-year-old Spaniard has an incredible record for the London club, having scored 23 times in 68 games from midfield, an average of just over a goal every three games.

Sent out on loan to Spanish La Liga outfit Eibar for the first half of last season, upon returning he scored 12 goals in 27 games during a scintillating run of form which attracted attention across the division.

With just one year left on his contract, interest is high on the Spanish playmaker, and with the massive money buzzing around Premier League club nowadays, it won’t be long before a top flight club matches his £8 million asking price.

Jota struck up an efficient partnership with Danish striker Lasse Vibe last season, with the pair helping to kickstart an outstanding run of form in the second half of last season that fired the Bees to a 10th placed finish.

Brentford fans have reason to believe their side can match the performance of London rivals Fulham last season and qualify, or at least challenge, for the Play-Offs, but keeping hold of the pair is absolutely crucial to keeping hopes of a play-off challenge alive.

Everton will be looking at Jota to potentially replace Ross Barkley, should they fail to bring in Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson as a replacement, however newly promoted Newcastle United and West Ham also remain keen on the 25-year-old. Despite the interest, no official bid has been made for the former Celta Vigo midfielder.
