Norwich City close in on loan deal for talented Arsenal midfielder

Norwich City are closing in on a loan deal for Arsenal’s 19-year-old defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik, the player himself revealed in an interview with Polish news outlet ‘Laczy Nas Pilka’.

The Polish youngster stated: “Probably I will play [for] Norwich City on loan next, talks are close to finalisation. Certainly, I hope that after [sic] I go back to Arsenal on a permanent basis [and] I find myself in the first team and get a chance in the Premier League.”

Bielek spent the second half of last season out on loan with Championship strugglers Birmingham City, where he featured 10 times for the Blues as they stumbled to safety on the final day.

At 6ft 2in tall, the Polish youth international has the physique and technical ability to play either at centre-back or as a holding midfielder just in front of the back line.

The Pole joined Arsenal for £2.7 million in 2015 but is yet to feature in a league game for the Gunners, and with the current levels of squad depth at The Emirates, it looks like a loan spell away from the London club could be beneficial for both parties.

It appears however that Norwich City manager Daniel Farke is set to make the teenager his 3rd signing since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, with Bielek joining Manchester City youngster Angus Gunn and Mario Vrancic at Carrow Road.

There has been no official confirmation of the deal, but with Bielek himself confirming that a deal is in the pipeline, it surely can’t be far away.
