Huddersfield, Huddersfield Town interested in Reading star

Huddersfield Town interested in Reading star

Premier League bound Huddersfield Town are very interested in signing Reading midfielder Danny Williams. The Reading midfielder played, and lost, against the Terriers in the Championship play-off final last Monday (29 May).

Danny Williams scored 4 goals and got 1 assist last season and scored in the shoot-out against Huddersfield. The German born, US international was one of the best players on the pitch against Huddersfield. He caught the eye of many football fans on that day and got praised by many football fans, especially Huddersfield fans.

Just like Town manager David Wagner the 28-year-old midfielder is half German and half American. This, although very unlikely, could potentially prove to be a factor in where Danny Williams chooses to go.

SDAL reporter Dave Turnbull has said “Huddersfield have begun contract talks with Danny Williams”.  Also according transfermarkt.co.uk Williams is out of contract at the end of this month. This means even if he doesn’t end up signing for the Terriers he will almost certainly NOT be a Reading player next season, as talks of a new deal broke down due to Reading not being promoted to the Premier League.

If he does sign Williams could play a massive part in Huddersfield’s Premier League campaign. Because if Aaron Mooy wasn’t to return back to Huddersfield be it on a permanent or a 2nd loan deal, which is a fear of many Terriers, Williams would replace Mooy perfectly in the centre of midfield.
