Where the bookies say Huddersfield loan star Aaron Mooy will be next season

Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy was certainly one of the key reasons why Huddersfield Town enjoyed the season that they did. The 26-year-old made 45 league appearances for the Terriers as they celebrated promotion into the Premier League. The question now is, where will he be next season?

Of course he is a Manchester City player so he will officially return to the club over the summer. He’ll depart with the Socceroos for their off-season international fixtures, but his future could be decided not too long after that. Does Pep Guardiola necessarily need him? Will Mooy want to test himself at the highest level with Huddersfield? Sky Bet have had their say.

Now the overriding positive from the market is that he is highly likely to be a Huddersfield Town player again next season, most likely on another season-long loan. It is unclear what a permanent deal would cost them, and now they are promoted it is likely that fee would increase now anyway. Guardiola surely doesn’t need Mooy right now, and despite his obvious quality, he’d still struggle to break into the Man City team. Sky Bet go 1/3 that he’ll be a Huddersfield Town player, permanently or loan, once the next season commences.

They only rate his chances of actually remaining at Man City at 9/1, which is huge. If Huddersfield had lost the play-off final, then there is every chance that price would’ve been shorter. Also, he wouldn’t have been 1/3 to remain at Huddersfield too! Towards the end of the regulation season his name was linked with a move elsewhere in the media. Brighton, Newcastle and Swansea are rated at 7/1, 10/1 and 12/1 respectively.
