Brighton: Fans & players treated to exclusive concert in promotion party

Supporters and players of Brighton & Hove Albion were treated to an exclusive performance from fellow fan Fat Boy Slim, reports the Daily Mail.

The Seagulls won promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history by finishing second in the Sky Bet Championship, being pipped to the title by Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United side despite leading the way for so long this season.

Chris Hughton’s side sat destined for the Championship title but were forced to settle for second-place after losing twice and drawing once in their final three games of the season, leaving Newcastle the task of just needing to better the Seagulls’ result to finish top – and the Magpies duly did with a 3-0 win at home to Barnsley.

And as thousands of Seagulls supporters lined the streets of the Sussex City to cheer the history makers as Chris Hughton’s side paraded along the stunning seafront in Sussex before rising to a stage to meet many more supporters.

And Norman Cook, whose stage name is Fatboy Slim, performed to the large crowd as he continued the Club’s celebrations.

The famous DJ is a 12% shareholder of the Seagulls and posted a picture of himself, captain Bruno, Steve Sidwell and Glenn Murray on Social Media.

Brighton & Newcastle will be joined by one other side from the Championship in the Barclays Premier League, with everything to be played for in the second legs after Fulham drew 1-1 with Reading in London, whilst Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 at Huddersfield Town.
