Leeds United – “at least” two Polish youngsters to sign to Whites academy

Leeds United’ Thorp Arch Academy has been a lifeblood of the club, like academies are up and down the country for almost all clubs.

There has been a production line of talent coming through, and not just recently with players like Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira breaking through to the side.

Beyond that, and only just, are names like Sam Byram, Lewis Cook, Alex Mowatt and the much-lambasted Charlie Taylor who ‘graduated’ from Leeds’ in-house football academy and went on to play first team football.

Two of those, Cook and Byram, are now plying their trade in the Premier League with Charlie Taylor likely to join them after his ‘refusal to play’ escapade against Wigan in Leeds’ last game of the season.

Going back further and names like Jonny Howson, Alan Smith, James Milner and Fabian Delph came through the academy, into the Leeds United first team set-up before going on to bigger things in the Premier League.

Now, according to the Polish Football Academy’s Facebook page, “at least two” of their youngsters are

The Facebook post (above) says that: “We received the official news that at least two players [with the] Polish Football Academy [will] soon sign contracts with Leeds United.”

The Polish Football Academy is based in Gipton, Leeds and has seen some of its players train with sides such as Manchester City, Bradford City and Hull City over recent weeks and months. Now it seems that Leeds United are taking the plunge and signing up a couple of their youngsters.
