Three potental signings for Leeds United to replace Charlie Taylor

Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of the 2016/17 season, and it looks increasingly likely that a new deal will not be signed.

Taylor caused a lot of controversy ahead of Leeds’ last game of the season, when he refused to play in the match against Wigan.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk commented on Taylor’s refusal to play, but refused to comment on what it meant for his future.

Many Leeds fans won’t want to see the defender in a Leeds shirt again following this latest betrayal, but who could the Yorkshire club bring in to replace the 23-year-old?

Zeki Fryers – Crystal Palace: Zeki Fryers is a young left back, who is currently on the books at Crystal Palace. He’s featured in the Football League before, enjoying loan spells at Rotherham United and Ipswich Town. He’s been on the books at a number of Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but has rarely featured in the top flight. Instead, his appearances are often limited to cup competitions. He also enjoyed a stint of playing in the Belgian top flight with Standard Liege. Despite not appearing often in the Premier League, he is an experienced youth international, who has featured for England at U17, U18 and U19 level. His contract at Crystal Palace expires this season, and considering he isn’t getting any game time in the top flight, he may be tempted to drop down a division to pick up some extra experience.
