Blackburn Rovers’ director of football and operations Paul Senior has resigned from his role, not even 24 hours after the club were relegated to Sky Bet League One.
Blackburn were relegated yesterday (May 7), despite their victory at Brentford.
Victories for Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest meant that the Lancashire club were sent down to the third tier for the first time in three decades.
Following the club’s relegation, fans took to Twitter to share their feelings on what had happened over the past year at Ewood park.
It is believed that Paul Senior was the only member of the ‘hierarchy’ who Tony Mowbray spoke to before he took the job in February.
He was hired in the New year, and was challenged with overseeing recruitment at the Lancashire club.
However, following his resignation, he will of course not be around in order to try and prepare Blackburn Rovers for life in League One next season.
