Newport County fans react to last gasp survival in the Football League

Newport County saved it until the closing stages of the game to secure their survival in the English Football League for the 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two Campaign. Newport County fans have taken to Twitter to react to their survival in the EFL!

A penalty in the 32nd minute after Haydn Hollis tripped Lenell John-Lewis in the box. Mickey Demetriou stepped up to penalty spot, and converted his kick which saw the Welsh side take the lead.

Notts County came back in the second half to equalise in the 69th minute, thanks to a strike from Jorge Grant.

With Hartlepool United going 2-1 up against Doncaster Rovers, the fate of Newport County looked all but assured until Mark O’Brien saved his side from relegation, scoring in the 89th minute of the game.
