Vinnie Jones was an uncompromising footballer, I would say ask Paul Gascoigne’s testicles but that’s probably not wise. He had a hard man image on the pitch, this transferring over to his roles in Hollywood.
Even though Jones was only at Elland Road for the one season, from September 1990 to August 1991, the Hollywood actor certainly hasn’t forgotten the role that he played in the side or how Leeds fans took him to heart.
Vinnie Jones was one of those players, who are becoming increasingly more rare, who play with their hearts on their sleeves, giving their all on the pitch in an honest display. And it is with the same honesty that Vincent Peter Jones comments on Leeds United.
He may have left the club, but his tweets over recent days have shown that a part of the club still stays with him, Jones coming out and commenting on the Whites in a very positive manner. One such tweet is the following (below) which came in reply to a motivational tweet from Progress Yorkshire.
We have had faith in the lads and gary for 43 now get behind them for 3 more , mot , come on lads best of luck and wishes 👊🏼

Jones’ emphasis on getting behind them, backing the Whites to the hilt, is something that Leeds fans have been urging across Twitter since the Easter Monday loss to Wolves at Elland Road. With the season entering what Alex Ferguson called ‘squeaky bum time’, Leeds are one of three teams, Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday being the others, pushing for the final two play-off spots.
Like the fans on social media, across both Facebook and Twitter, former terrace favourite Jones is pushing that sense of positivity that many think is an important element in helping to encourage the Whites to push back towards the play-off places.
