Archibald, Brentford in talks to sign Celtic starlet

Brentford in talks to sign Celtic starlet

Brentford are currently in talks with Celtic as they try to sign Theo Archibald according to a report from The Scottish Sun.

The Scottish giants are well known for producing a lot of great youngsters through their academy with many of the graduates eventually breaking into the first team. One of the players who has been attracting a lot of attention over the last few months is Archibald, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder. Most notably he hit the headlines when he scored a stunning goal against Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League with many noting his talent at that time.

But despite that talent, Archibald’s future may not lie with Celtic as interest is starting to grow south of the border with Brentford already making their move. This report suggests that the Bees are already at the table negotiating a deal to bring the starlet to Griffin Park with the two clubs looking to decide what the right fee would be for him. The club have already talked with Archibald over the deal he would have, with this report going on to say he has been offered a three-year contract.

But for now Archibald will have to continue his career at Albion Rovers, a club he joined on loan during January. He has made a few appearances for the club since his signing but now could be set to head to England should he agree a deal with Brentford over the next few weeks. It is likely though he may end up in the developmental squad than make an instant impact in the first team though.
