Norwich City line up Fleetwood Town boss as next manager

Norwich City have lined up Fleetwood Town’s Uwe Rosler as their next head coach according to a report on Page 63 of The Sun on Sunday.

The Canaries are currently without a boss when they elected to sack Alex Neil following a season where they have struggled to be part of the automatic promotion picture. Alan Irvine, who does have experience of management after being in charge of Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion, is currently the caretaker manager though he has made it clear he doesn’t want the job on a full time basis.

And while Norwich are re-organising their boardroom right now, there are ideas of who they will get in as their next manager. And right now should Stuart Webber become the new sporting director as expected, the club are expected to make a move for Fleetwood manager Uwe Rosler.

Rosler’s reputation as a Championship manager seemed to be dead after two underwhelming reigns with Wigan Athletic and Leeds United, so it was no surprise to see him drop down to Sky Bet League One to become the new manager of Fleetwood. But he has revitalised his career in Lancashire after taking the Cod Army up the table as they are currently 3rd in the league and it’s this which has attracted Norwich to him.

But for now the Canaries will have to continue their attempts to get back into the promotion picture with Irvine in charge while the men in the board organise themselves so they can get a new manager.
