Newcastle United plot shock move for Manchester United starlet

Newcastle United are plotting a shock move for Manchester United’s Luke Shaw should they be promoted to the Premier League according to a report from the Daily Star.

It’s already been reported that the Magpies are already planning for life in the Premier League after spending most of the season in the automatic promotion places of the Sky Bet Championship, though their passage back to the top-tier is yet to be secured. And alongside the likes of Crystal Palace and Stoke City, they are planning to make a move to sign Shaw in the summer.

When Shaw moved to Manchester United in 2014 in a big money deal from Southampton, it was expected he would become the truly great player many expect he would be with the potential he had shown playing for the Saints. And while he has shown glimpses of that, injuries have badly affected his time at Old Trafford, most notably when he was ruled out for six months when he suffered a double leg fracture in a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven.

But even though he is now fully fit and raring to go, the 21-year-old has struggled to get time on the pitch and has only made 15 appearances for the Red Devils this season. This has led to speculation he may be set to leave the giants in the summer, with the likes Crystal Palace, Stoke and Newcastle planning to make bids worth £15 to try and resurrect the career of one of the brightest prospects in the country.
