Nottingham Forest to appoint former Rangers manager in next 24 hours

Nottingham Forest will appoint Mark Warburton as their new head coach within the next 24 hours according to a report from the Nottingham Post.

Forest have been without a permanent manager since January when they decided to sack Philippe Montanier. Since then the club have had Gary Brazil in charge who has seen a slight uptick in form since his appointment, though they suffered a disappointing loss to Burton Albion at the weekend.

But after months of waiting to get a new manager, they have finally found their man as this report suggests they will be appointing Mark Warburton as their new head coach within the next 24 hours. There had been talk between the two parties in the summer but he was unwilling at that time to leave Rangers. Since then he has left the club in acrimonious circumstances and is now looking for a new team to manage.

It appears Forest will be that place as there have before come to an agreement on a deal that will see him become the new manager. The only issue that could hamper the deal is that exit from Rangers, with it still being unsure whether Warburton was sacked or if he resigned.

If and when Warburton is appointed as the manager, he will have a tough task on his hands as he tries to save them from relegation. Their recent poor run has seen them drop even closer to the bottom three and they are now just two points above the relegation zone.
