Aston Villa, Goal machine Kodjia is justifying huge investment

Goal machine Kodjia is justifying huge investment

Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia is continuing to justify the huge transfer fee which was paid for his services by netting twice in Villa’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Ivorian hotshot bagged a goal in each half as Steve Bruce’s men recorded a hugely impressive victory over a Wednesday outfit who could secure a place in the end of season Play Offs.

Kodjia’s strikes were his 14th and 15th goals of the season for Villa since joining the club for a reported £11 million transfer fee from Bristol City in August and the striker continues to justify the huge sum paid to The Robins by Villa.

The Midlands outfit have scored just 37 times in the Sky Bet Championship this season with new boy Kodjia netting 15 of those goals. Villa have been hugely dependent upon their frontman and had it not been for Kodjia’s goals, the club could have found themselves further down the league table.

The deal to bring Kodjia to Villa Park is thought to have included a number of clauses which could see the final transfer fee reach up to £15 million and the success of the striker in claret and blue can also be of huge financial benefit of former club Bristol City who could yet net an additional £4 million from the agreement.
