Leeds United fans react to co-owner’s impassioned tweets

Leeds United consolidated their Play-Off position with an impressive 3-1 victory against a beleaguered Birmingham side who out-shot Leeds but couldn’t out-gun them at St Andrews.

A brace from Kiwi striker Chris Wood, his 21st and 22nd of the campaign, plus a first goal for Spanish loanee Alfonso Pedraza were enough to see Garry Monk’s side move to 64 points and within a point of third-placed Huddersfield Town.

Leeds’ push up the league table has largely been on the back of Chris Wood’s scoring exploits and the defensive solidity of a back four that is rapidly coming together as an impressive unit. However, no matter what has driven the Whites up the table, Leeds United fans are more than happy that their side are up there in the mix for promotion, a welcome place to be in after the previous few seasons.

Much has changed this season, aside from the obvious improvement in the side. The biggest being the bringing on board of now co-owner Andrea Radrizzani, who many have said had an influence on the club before his 50% investment into the club.

Tonight even Radrizzani couldn’t contain himself and took to Twitter to show his glee.

Leeds United fans, as is usual, were quick to leap on the tweets and air what they had to say.

Leeds United fans respond to Andrea Radrizzani tweets.

In all honesty, there was a definite pattern developing with the responses, as borne out by the following Tweets.

There were some tweets that were a definite divergence from the pleadings to get head coach Garry Monk’s contract, which only runs to the season’s end, sorted out. The following tweet is a thanks for rescuing us from uncertainty message.

On his other tweet, the general consensus is the same as above – get Monk his contract.

The ‘Monk situation’ regarding his contract status is a definite urgent talking point amongst Leeds United fans on social media, these fans being fully aware of the fact that Garry Monk only signed an initial one-year deal when joining the club ahead of this season. That urgency is manifest in the replies to Andrea Radrizzani’s tweets (above).
