Benjamin Buchel Makes the Move to London on an Emergency Loan

A done deal for Barnet after signing Oxford United’s reserve keeper, Benjamin Buchel†; a one-month emergency loan after Jamie Stephens and Josh Vickers are out of action due to a hamstring and thigh injury respectively.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper from Liechtenstein signed for Oxford United in 2015 after a series of loan spells when he signed for Bournemouth back in 2012. He made his debut for the club against Swindon Town on 6 October 2015 in the Football League Trophy where they won 2-0. He is chasing for second choice goalkeeper for Liechtenstein’s International team.

Stephens has not been in the starting squad since being substituted off early against Leyton Orient back in January. Vickers had been the Bees’ first choice for a month until he was unable to play due to a quad injury.

The Bees signed Harry Burgoyne from Championship side, Wolverhampton Wonderers where he started in the squad against Cambridge United. He played his last game against Blackpool on 28 February before going back to his parent club.
