Interim Forest boss planning for full time job

Interim Nottingham Forest manager Gary Brazil could be set to be handed the job on a full time basis after holding discussions with owner Fawaz Al Hasawi about future player recruitment and contracts according to the Nottingham Post.

The 54-year-old academy coach has been in charge at The City Ground since Forest sacked former boss Philippe Montanier in the middle of last month.

Brazil’s hopes of landing the job on a permanent basis have increased with The Reds winning three of his four matches in charge and the club now sit more comfortably in the Sky Bet Championship table away from any immediate threat of relegation.

It has now been revealed that Brazil and assistant Jack Lester have met with club owner Fawaz Al Hasawi in London to discuss player contracts and possible transfer targets and that meeting suggests that the pair are likely to remain in charge for the long term with Kuwaiti businessman Al Hasawi previously hinting that he would like them to stay at the helm at least until the end of the campaign.

Prior to Brazil’s appointment as Forest’s caretaker boss, the club had failed to win in eight matches and were sliding down the table at an alarming rate but The Reds’ academy coach has brought stability and togetherness to a club which has been far too disjointed in recent times.
