Twitter rumours are circulating that forward Jordan Rhodes will have to wait even longer to see the end of his long drawn out transfer saga.
It has been reported that bids from both Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday have been rejected for the forward. The following tweet was one of a number that surrounded social media in regards to the events.
UPDATE: Striker Jordan Rhodes' future at #Boro remains in doubt. Offers from #AVFC and #SWFC have been rejected.

The forward, who has also been linked with other Championship sides during the window, would be joining fellow striker David Nugent out of The Riverside. Nugent, who was attracting the interest of Leeds United at the time, joined Derby County for a fee in the region of £2,000,000.
However, since Middlesbrough complete the signing of Jordan Rhodes from Villa earlier in the window – it has been well documented that Rhodes will likely be allowed to leave the club before the transfer window slams shut.
However, the club who prized him away from Blackburn Rovers last January, will not accept any bid below his valued price. The latest developments go a long way to proving that.
Rhodes began his career at Ipswich initially but joined Huddersfield Town in 2009 when he found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Portman Road. It was at Huddersfield that he would flourish and from there, he joined Blackburn.
A regular 20 goal a season contributor at Ewood, it wasn’t a surprise to many when Middlesbrough came calling for the Scotsman last January.
However, a move has never really worked out for either party and both Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa would love to make him one of their own before the deadline.
