Reading are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace’s Jordon Mutch according to a report from Sky Sports News.
The 25-year-old midfielder signed for Palace from QPR back in the summer of 2015 but has struggled to get into the first team this season. He has only made eight appearances for the Eagles this season with half of them coming in cup competitions and with them being out of both the EFL Cup and the FA Cup as well the £12.5m signing of Olympiakos’ Luka Milivojevic getting closer, Mutch isn’t likely to get back into the first team anytime soon.
And now Mutch is looking set to leave Selhurst Park and is looking to complete his move to Reading. This report suggests that he is at the club right now getting the final few details of the transfer finished before announcing the move later on in the day. With the former Birmingham City midfielder being someone who is very happy to pass the ball about, he looks like he could be the perfect addition to Jaap Stam’s side.
This would be the third signing of the January transfer for Reading who have been very busy as they look to get the players necessary to sustain the promotion push they are currently on. The first deal was to bring in Tiago Llori from Liverpool before they also signed Adrian Popa from Steaua Bucharest later on in the window. But now their squad looks even more complete as Mutch closes in on a move to Reading.
