QPR permanently sign Poland international on two-and-a-half year deal

Queens Park Rangers have today officially completed the permanent signing of midfielder Pawel Wszolek. He has been on loan at Loftus Road since August and has now established himself as a key member of Ian Holloway’s starting eleven.

The Sky Bet Championship club have paid an undisclosed fee to Hellas Verona for the services of the Polish international. Wszolek, who turns 25 in April, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the club. He was signed by previous manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Speaking on the news of the deal, Holloway stated that although he didn’t know much about the player when he first arrived, he is now one of the first names on the teamsheet,

“It’s brilliant, brilliant news – just fantastic for QPR.
“Pawel has been wonderful for me since I’ve been back here so I’m absolutely delighted we’ve exercised the option.
“He’s a joy to work with every day. He’s a got a great footballing brain and it’s a wonderful, wonderful feeling to see him in full flight in the Hoops.
“What an amazing feeling it is as a manager to come in, not know someone as well as you’d like, and see them flourish.”
The player himself says that he is enjoying his football once again under Holloway and is loving his time with the club,
“These last few months with QPR have been very enjoyable and I am really enjoying my football under the new manager.
“He has given me a licence to express myself and show what I am about as a player, and that is all you can ask for.”
