Nottingham Forest complete move for Wolves midfielder

Nottingham Forest have signed Wolves’ Joao Teixeira on loan for the rest of the season as confirmed by the club website.

The 22-year-old midfielder signed for Wolves in the summer from Benfica and while he has played plenty of games for the club, he has 20 appearances, he has suffered from the change in management as the new head coach Paul Lambert does not favour him. This is why he hasn’t played a first team match for Wolves since December and why Lambert was willing to let him leave.

And now he has joined one of Wolves’ Sky Bet Championship rivals as he has signed a deal with Nottingham Forest which will keep him at the club until the end of the season. Despite not having a full time manager, with caretaker head coach Gary Brazil taking control after the sacking of Philippe Montanier, Forest have been looking to strengthen the squad so they can stave off relegation.

And now they have a player who could change games for them. He was once a highly rated prospect in the Benfica academy and even played for the Portuguese giants in the Champions League. However after a loan spell with fellow Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes, he left the club to join Wolves in the first influx of players following their big money takeover in the summer. However after falling out of the first team there, he will hope to impress with Forest and will hope to make his début for the East Midlands side against Aston Villa at the weekend.
