Bury sign up Wolves defender

Bury have signed Sylvain Deslandes on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season as confirmed by the club website.

The 19-year-old defender, who can play at left back and in the centre, is seen as a big prospect at Wolves after he was signed from French side SM Caen back in 2015. After making his début for the team against Barnet in what was then called the Capital One Cup in 2015, he would make a few appearances for their first team but the bulk of his time on the pitch was for their U21 team.

Unfortunately this season has seen Deslandes go down the pecking order as the big money takeover in the summer saw an influx of players which saw players like him get less glimpses of the first team. In fact, he hasn’t even made an appearance for the first team this year, though he has played for the U23s in the Checkatrade Trophy.

And with the Wolves U23s not being in the Checkatrade Trophy anymore, Deslandes’ chances of getting first team football at Molineux become even more limited and it became apparent that he would need to leave the club on a temporary deal to get the first team action needed to help in his development.

And now Deslandes has a new home until May after he signed for Bury. The Shakers need all the help they can get as they battle against relegation from Sky Bet League One this season and they are hoping that the defender can help seal their back four for the rest of the season.
