Birmingham City sign young Gunner

Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik on a loan deal until the end of the season according to the club’s official website.

The 19-year-old Konin born centre back moves to St Andrews in a bid to gain some regular first team playing experience with the player aiming to push for a place in the Arsenal first team squad.

Bielik has been tipped by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to play at the very top level after converting the former Polish Under-18 international from a midfielder to a centre back.

The player has made two senior appearances for Arsenal in EFL Cup ties since joining the club from Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Legia Warsaw for a reported £2.7 million transfer fee two years ago. Bielik has been a regular for The Gunners’ development squad while the defender has featured for his club in the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in recent seasons.

In addition to the two senior appearances made for Arsenal, Bielik also made five appearances for former club Legia Warsaw and cementing a place in the Birmingham City starting line up is very much at the top of the player’s agenda over the coming months at St Andrews.
