Bristol City, Robins deny interest in Iron midfielder

Robins deny interest in Iron midfielder

Sky Bet Championship strugglers Bristol City have distanced themselves from speculation linking them with a move for Scunthorpe United midfielder Josh Morris according to the Bristol Post.

The Robins were thought to have been interested in signing the 25-year-old former Blackburn Rovers academy graduate earlier this week but a source from the club has quickly moved to deny the rumours and has insisted that the speculation may have been created by Morris’ agent trying to grab a better deal for his client.

As well as Bristol City being linked with a move for Morris, the player has also been paired with a move to either Ipswich Town or Rotherham United during the current transfer window after playing a starring role for Sky Bet League One promotion chasers Scunthorpe United.

The Iron currently occupy an automatic promotion position in the league table and Morris has attracted plenty of admirers at Glanford Park after impressing for the club since moving to Lincolnshire from Bradford City in the summer.

After a stuttering start to his career, Morris has been a revelation for Scunthorpe United with the midfielder scoring a hugely impressive 18 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for the club. The player has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal at Glanford Park and the midfielder could yet return to the Sky Bet Championship with his current employers.
