Ipswich Town complete deal for Forest Green striker

Ipswich Town have signed Kieffer Moore from Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee as confirmed by the club website.

The 24-year-old striker, who stands at an impressive 6ft 6in, had done well for Forest green since he signed for them in 2016 having made 33 appearances and scored seven goals. However most recently he has been out on loan at Torquay United where he was in red hot form having scored five goals in four appearances.

This attracted the notice of Ipswich who then moved to sign Moore on a permanent deal. Now he will be playing at Portman Road until 2018 after he signed an eighteen month contract where he will hope to prove that he can compete in the Sky Bet Championship.

While he made his name in non-league football having played for the likes of Truro City and Dorchester Town, he has played in the Sky Bet EFL before when he was at Yeovil Town. While he did OK at Yeovil, scoring seven goals in 50 appearances. However when the Glovers were relegated from the Championship to Sky Bet League One, Moore decided to leave and went the unusual route of playing in Norway. That move to Viking though didn’t go well as he only made nine appearances and failed to score.

Now he will be playing for Ipswich who are in a tough situation as they are struggling in the bottom half of the table instead of challenging for the play-offs like they expected. He could make his debut in the FA Cup Third Round Replay fixture against Lincoln City.
