Derby County set to sign Everton starlet on loan

Derby County are set to sign Everton’s Brendan Galloway on loan according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old defender is highly rated by Everton coaching staff but as they thought he wouldn’t get much first team football there because both Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo returned to fitness, they decided to loan him out in the summer. Because of how well he played for the Toffees in the 2015/16, they thought he would be a good fit for a Premier League side and he would go and join West Bromwich Albion.

However Galloway has struggled to break into the first team and with West Broom looking to sign a new left back, they have made approaches for Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor and Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp, it is looking like he is set for even less time in the first team in the second half of the year.

This is leading Everton to terminate the loan and as the first team picture looks just as grim there for Galloway, they are planning to loan him out once again. And after his foray into the Premier League fell flat this time around, he is set to drop down a league and play in the Sky Bet Championship in order to get the first team experience he needs. Derby are looking for the recruits that can help them get into the Sky Bet play-offs after a disappointing start to the season and this youthful defender could help them seal their place in the top six.
