Wolves could rival QPR for former Premier League striker

Former Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega could be a target for Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Express and Star.

It was revealed earlier this month that Queens Park Rangers were interested in the striker, but Wolves could be about to rival the London club with a bid of their own.  Rodallega currently plays for Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor and has scored 25 goals in 53 appearances for the club.

Rodallega first arrived in England with Wigan Athletic in 2009, signing for the club for a fee of £4.5 million from Mexican side Necaxa.  The forward had a slow start in front of goal in the Premier League and ended the season with three goals in 15 games.  Rodallega had a good second season, scoring 10 Premier League goals for Wigan.

Rodallega had a good third season before losing his form and place in the team and being released in the summer of 2012.  He was subsequently signed by Fulham but never really found form for the club until they were relegated to the Championship.  The striker left Fulham in 2015.

If QPR or Wolves sign Rodallega, they will be getting a player with a lot of experience in English football and a striker whose movement is as good as his goal-scoring ability.  He may also be available for a bargain price, with his contract expiring this summer.
