QPR make bid for Bristol City winger

QPR have made a bid to sign Bristol City’s Luke Freeman according to a report from West London Sport.

The 24-year-old winger has impressed for the Robins ever since he signed for them in 2014 from Stevenage. During his time with the club he has made 105 appearances and has scored 10 goals, helping them to get promoted from Sky Bet League One and was able to join the fabled group of teams that managed to get over a 100 points.

But he could be set to leave Ashton Gate after two-and-a-half-years with the club with QPR now making a bid to sign the former Arsenal made. The R’s are looking to strengthen their squad massively during the January transfer window but new head coach Ian Holloway’s main priority is to sign a new winger, especially with forward Tjaronn Chery looking set to leave after putting in a transfer request.

And while QPR are still interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion’s Kazenga LuaLua on loan, they have also made an approach to try and sign Freeman from Bristol City. It is unknown how much the West London side have offered to sign the winger, but with the Robins considering him to be one of their top players they are unlikely to sell unless they get a big fee for the player.

So that means unless this bid is of a considerable size, Freeman will be sticking with the club for the near future. That means he should play against Fleetwood Town on Saturday in the FA Cup third round match.
