Grant McCann discusses Chelsea plan

It’s a big weekend for Peterborough United, as they head to Stamford Bridge to take on Premier League leaders Chelsea in the FA Cup third round.

It may seem a mammoth task for the Sky Bet League One club, but Peterborough boss Grant McCann is planning to take inspiration from Tottenham Hotspur’s victory over Chelsea.

Chelsea’s defeat at White Hart Lane in the week ended their 13 match winning streak, and McCann plans to implement Spurs’ attacking style of play when they visit the Bridge on Sunday.

Speaking to BBC Cambridgeshire, the Posh boss said: “We won’t be changing for Chelsea. That may sound a bit arrogant, but it’s not, it’s a cup game. Anything can happen.

“It’s going to be tough, we all know that, but we’ve got nothing to lose.”

The Posh manager visited White Hart Lane to watch the Premier League leaders lose to Spurs, but reiterated that his team will be facing one of the most inform teams in Europe on Sunday.

When asked about his game plan, McCann said: “We want to get after them. Spurs played on the front foot, got after them and caused them problems

“That’s what we want to do. We will have attacking players in our team and want to play on the front foot in their half.

“The higher up you play, the more time you get on the ball, but you’ve got to be good with it because they’re so quick at breaking on you.”
