Pontus Jansson secures PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award – Twitter Reacts

It was announced today that Leeds United’s defensive stalwart Pontus Jansson had won the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award for December… With absolute ease.

The Swede romped to victory in the award which is voted for by the supporters – the instrumental Jansson secured well over 50% of the votes cast in the PFA’s poll – the former Torino man receiving 9,294 of over 17,000 votes to be exact.

Jansson is idolised around Yorkshire for how he has galvanised Monk’s side since his signing in the dying embers of the summer transfer window; when Jansson played his first game as an Elland Road player, United found themselves lingering in 22nd place in the Sky Bet Championship with only four points to their name – if you now fast forward nearly four months to the present moment, Leeds occupy a play-off spot in the Sky Bet Championship, and are in contention for an automatic place – should they continue their outstanding form.

Obviously, the resurgence of Monk’s outfit isn’t solely down to Jansson – but he has been an essential factor, and most if not all around Elland Road are desperate for the 25-year-old to make his stay in Yorkshire a permanent one this month.

So – Leeds United fans, what do you make of this?

Would you prioritise a permanent swoop for Jansson over any other business this month?
