QPR finally nearing the sale of big wage midfielder

West London Sport reports that Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro is in discussions with Turkish Super Lig side Osmanlispor over a January transfer. The Championship club are willing to let the player leave for free, such is their willingness to remove the Brazilian from their wage bill.

The 27-year-old has been at Loftus Road since September 2014 and his contract expires at the end of this season. That will not be renewed and Ian Holloway wants rid of the player a few months early in order to bring someone else in that will greatly contribute to their quest to avoid relegation.

Since penning a £6million move from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the player has only managed to start 29 league games because of ongoing fitness problems. Last year, he had discussions over a possible move to the megabucks Chinese Super League, whilst he also supposedly failed a medical with Sporting Lisbon, seeing that deal collapse as well.

Interest in the player has returned in the wake of the January transfer window being declared open for business. Holloway wants to remove certain players from his squad, whilst stamping his own authority on the team too in the form of his own recruits.

Osmanlispor are still in the Europa League and currently sit in sixth place in the Turkish top flight, four points behind the final European place.
