QPR man free to leave and forced to train with youth team after fall-out

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Karl Henry has been told that he is free to leave the club this month, according to Get West London. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man has fallen-out with manager Ian Holloway, and has not played since December 1st 2016, where QPR lost 2-1 at home to Wolves.

The 34-year-old has made 118 appearances for the Loftus Road club since joining them in 2013. At the start of the season, he penned a one-year contract to remain with the London club, but with that highly unlikely to be extended, he has been told he is free to leave in January.

Such is the magnitude of the falling out between the pair, veteran Henry has been told to train with the development squad. It remains somewhat unclear exactly what the reason for the falling-out is, although two big personalities appear to have ultimately collided.

Holloway is set to ring the changes in terms of playing staff at QPR this month, with many players highly likely to leave and targets have been lined up to bolster the overall quality of the team as well. German striker Sebastian Polter is another to be told that he is free to leave, with a move back to his homeland being touted as his most likely destination. Although they’ve won their last few games, the former Blackpool boss is conscious of the new for new faces to aid their quest to pull even further away from the Championship drop zone.
