Bristol City: Robins sign 6ft 6in Bosnian international

Bristol City have confirmed the signing of full Bosnian international Milan Djuric, as announced by the club’s official Twitter account this evening.

The 6″6 striker has joined the club for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year deal from Italian club Cesena. Djuric played 165 times for his former club Cesena scoring 28 goals in the process. The big man has also represented his nation Bosnia 14 times, scoring an impressive seven goals so far.

One of the striker’s most notable international appearances so far came against Wales back in Euro 2016 qualifying. Djuric both scored and assisted that day, helping his team secure a 2-0 win against Chris Coleman’s side.

Manager Lee Johnson has said “His attributes are clear for all to see; he can play up front on his own or alongside another striker and will give a platform to play off. He attacks the ball well and will add to our attacking options.

“The fact he is a current Bosnian international shows the calibre of player we’re getting, for whom he has scored one in every two games he’s played.”

The signing of Djuric follows the signing of Hertha Berlin midfielder Jens Hegeler earlier today and Bristol City fans have been reacting to both of the transfer dealings on social media. It’s fair to say there’s been a mixed response.

Bristol City have lost 6 on the bounce and will be looking to get back on this track this weekend, with possible contributions from their two new signings, in the FA Cup when they host League One Fleetwood at Ashton Gate.
