Frank Lampard strongly linked to shock Championship move

According to Sky Bet, Brighton & Hove Albion is the club that are most likely to complete the signing of free agent midfielder Frank Lampard. The Chelsea legend, who also has 106 caps for the England national team, left New York City FC in November after they suffered defeat in the MLS Play-Offs.

The 38-year-old has stated that he wishes to return to former club Chelsea either as a player or in some kind of role once he decides to hang up his boots. Crystal Palace are the second favourites in the list to snap up the footballing veteran, with a possible move to the megabucks Chinese Super League also being touted about as a possible option as well.

But could Frank Lampard really be pulling on the famous Seagulls shirt in the coming weeks? Betting activity has certainly hinted that he could be doing exactly that, but of course, time will tell on that front.

Lampard has practically won every major honour going on the domestic front. He has three Premier League medals, as well as four FA Cup and two EFL Cup triumphs to add to his tally. The highlight was winning the 2012 Champions League against Bayern Munich in Germany, and the following year they won the Europa League under current Newcastle United head coach Rafa Benitez. He began his career at West Ham before sealing an £11million move to Stamford Bridge in 2001, and the rest is history. Could Brighton & Hove Albion be a part of that history?
