Huddersfield Town: Terriers linked with 14-cap USA striker

According to a report in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, David Wagner is casting his eyes back to Germany once again in a quest to add more firepower to his Huddersfield side.

The player in question that the Huddersfield boss is looking to ad to his ‘Wagner Revolution’ is 14-cap USA striker Terrence Boyd, who currently turns out for Red Bull Leipzig, a team currently second in the Bundesliga and only three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Boyd made his USA debut against Italy in 2012, his last appearance being a two-minute appearance in a 1-1 friendly draw against New Zealand. Boyd’s recent international representation for the USA has been interrupted somewhat due to a ruptured cruciate ligament that kept him out for 56 games between Dec 2014 and June 2016.

Recently returned to fitness, Boyd has been working his way back to game fitness by turning out for Red Bull Leipzig’s second XI who play in the Regionalliga Nordost – Germany’s fourth tier competition. In nine game for Red Bull Leipzig’s second string, Boyd has scored five goals in nine appearances.

Boyd came to Red Bull Leipzig via a two-year stay in Austria with Rapid Vienna, where he scored 37 times in 80 appearances for Rapid, form which brought about a £1.7m transfer to the Bundesliga and his current employers.
