Fulham preparing approach for Rangers defender

Fulham are preparing to make a move for Rangers’ Rob Kiernan according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The Cottagers are in a much improved position compared to last season as this time last year they were battling to stay out of the relegation zone while currently they are in 7th place and are just four points off 6th placed Sheffield Wednesday. But despite that, their head coach Slaisa Jokanovic wants to bring in more reinforcements in the upcoming January transfer window and he’s made it clear that he wants a defender, midfielder, winger and striker in during the one month the club can sign players.

And Jokanovic has targeted the defender he wants as the club are preparing a move for Rangers’ Kiernan. The 25-year-old defender has been a regular for the Scottish giants since they made their return to the Scottish Premiership this year and has made 21 appearances so far this season. But if Fulham are willing to stump up £2m for him, they may be able to persuade Kiernan to head down south and join the West London side.

Kiernan started his career in England with Watford, but struggled to get first team action with them or the other contracted club he had south of the border, Wigan Athletic. He had lots of loan spells away from these clubs and played for the likes of Southend United, Birmingham City and Brentford. However since moving to Rangers in 2015 he has become a regular and has started to show why he has been highly regarded by so many.
