TESCO have a slogan that promises that ‘every little helps’, but try telling that to Chesterfield FC who have just found out that the retail giant’s tagline is anything but true.
An article on the club website says that the club have been informed by TESCO that their TESCO Extra store adjacent to Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium is out-of-bounds for Spireite fans looking for match day parking. From now, the supermarket chain will be rigourously enforcing parking restrictions at their store.

Chesterfield’s website reiterated TESCO’s stance that customers are only permitted to use the car park for two hours and mentioned that they have been informed “that cars will be issued with tickets” if cars are found to have been parked at the store for longer than those two permitted hours.
Warning supporters to seek alternative parking arrangements, Chesterfield mention that the “restriction comes into force immediately” and that fans would be better suited looking elsewhere to park up for match days rather than run the risk of a ticket and fine.
As Christmas approaches, it seems that TESCO are going all ‘Bah Humbug’ in the case of parking for Chesterfield fans in a season of less that goodwill towards the Spireites.
Chesterfield’s next game at the Proact is this Saturday coming against Bolton Wanderers.
