Seagulls rise to the top – Twitter reacts

Brighton & Hove Albion have leapfrogged Newcastle United into top spot in the SkyBet Championship table after beating Leeds United 2-0 at The Amex Stadium on Friday evening.

Chris Hughton’s side benefitted from two penalty kicks to win the match with Glenn Murray converting from 12 yards in the first half after Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips was sent off for a blatant hand ball before substitute Tomer Hemed scored a second spot kick late on to wrap up the three points for Albion.

The Seagulls could maintain their place at the league summit should promotion rivals Newcastle United fail to defeat Birmingham City on Saturday and after watching their side beat high flying Leeds United, fans took to Twitter to give their views on the match.
