Bristol City defender Aden Flint has signed a new deal with The Robins which will keep him at Ashton Gate until summer 2020 according to the Bristol Post.
The 27 year old giant centre back was reportedly attracting interest from Premier League clubs Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion in the summer but Flint remained with The Robins and any speculation regarding the player’s future in January has now been extinguished.
Flint started his career in non league with Alfreton Town where he made over 100 appearances before being spotted by scouts of SkyBet League One club Swindon Town. In January 2010, the big defender turned down interest from Colchester United to sign a two-and-a-half year contract at The County Ground.
After some impressive performances for Swindon Town, Flint joined Bristol City for a reported £300,000 transfer fee in summer 2013 and the player contributed to The Robins’ 2014/2015 SkyBet League One promotion and EFL Trophy double success. Flint has established himself as a regular for the club at SkyBet Championship level since winning promotion while he was crowned the Bristol City Player of the Year last season as The Robins avoided relegation.
Flint has been an ever-present for Bristol City this season with the defender making 22 appearances for the club in all competitions scoring one goal.
