Bury fans have voted in our poll and said that they want Chris Lucketti as their next head coach.
The Shakers are currently without a head coach after they decided to sack David Flitcroft following a poor run of form which saw them nosedive down to the Sky Bet League One table. And as they look to find someone who can turn their season around, the fans have shown that they want Lucketti as their next boss.
Lucketti may not have got any managerial experience, but he is a fan favourite at Gigg Lane having had a successful six year period as a player there back in the 1990s. He does have some coaching experience having been at Fleetwood Town for several years and even filling in as their caretaker manager on two two separate occasions. This was enough for him to get 41.51% of the vote.
In 2nd place was Phil Neville who has been heavily linked to the role in recent weeks though he has denied the rumour being true. Neville is well known in the town of Bury having been born there and his dad being an influential director at the club in the past. He also has coaching experience at giants such as Manchester United and Valencia. This earned him 30.19% of the vote.
Interestingly, the other three managers in the poll tied for third place. Karl Robinson, Steve Eyre and Chris Brass all earned just 9.43% of the vote, even though the first two are the only ones with managerial experience of the poll and the latter is currently at the club as their caretaker manager.
