Under pressure Championship boss to learn fate this week

Norwich City manager Alex Neil will soon find out if he will still remain in the job, according to The Sun. The Canaries boss has come under intense pressure on the back of a poor run of form. They suffered defeat to Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, their fourth league loss in a row.

Considered among the favourites for instant promotion back into the Premier League, Norwich haven’t won since mid-October, where they defeated bottom of the table Rotherham United 3-1 at Carrow Road. It is understood that the club board will discuss at a meeting within the next few days if Neil should remain in his position.

The Scot was a shock appointment to the role in January 2015. Later that season he guided the club into the Premier League via the play-offs, only to suffer relegation at his first season in the top flight of English football. Considering that fact, and their recent run of form, it has led to some fans questioning his position. Although they remain inside the play-off places at this moment in time, they now sit 13 points off top of the table Newcastle United.

Neil has remained adamant that he wants to continue in the job and expects to be given that luxury. However he conceded he understands he is in a results-based business and aims to turn that around sooner rather than later. Next up for Norwich is a trip to a rejuvenated Derby County this weekend.
