Aston Villa plotting move for Hull City striker

Aston Villa are plotting to make a move for Hull City’s Abel Hernandez according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.

Hernandez’s current contract at the Tigers runs out in the summer of 2018 and the Humberside club have been keen to try and get the striker who fired them back to the Premier League onto a longer deal. But currently the Uruguayan is resistant to any talks and could be prepared to force a move away from the KC Stadium in the January transfer window.

And the man who brought him to England, Steve Bruce, is now looking to sign him for a second time now he’s at his new club Aston Villa. Despite spending a massive amount of money bringing the likes of Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia to the club, they have struggled to score all season and that’s one of the reasons they have not challenged for promotion yet this season.

And so Bruce is looking to the man that helped score the goals which got Hull promoted under his guidance last season. After struggling in his first season at the club, he prospered after they were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship and scored 20 goals as the Tigers got promoted via the play-offs. And with Hernandez currently looking for a move where he can get the contract he wants, Bruce thinks that he would be a perfect fit in the system he is trying to establish at Villa Park and he can repeat for them what he was able to do for Hull last season.
